Stringify is a nonprofit dedicated to building a vibrant community through music.

As Music Programs get defunded in upper elementary classes , we look to step in to provide alternatives for parents and educators to continue on

By connecting elementary students, middle and high school mentors, and experienced music teachers, we create a space where passion meets purpose.

Our mission is to spread the joy of music and make it accessible to every child.

Through shared learning, leadership, and creativity, Stringify inspires connection, confidence, and a lifelong love for music — one note at a time..

How do we do it ?

Partner with Schools

  • Identify host campuses and set schedules (after school, 60–75 min).

  • Sign an MOU (space use, supervision, insurance).

  • Coordinate a safe pickup/dismissal plan.

Recruit & Vet Mentors

  • Middle & high school musicians apply.

  • Background/safety process + parent consent (if under 18).

  • Sign Mentor Terms & Agreement; track volunteer hours.

Train & Prepare

  • Short mentor training: teaching basics, classroom norms, child-safety.

  • Starter curriculum: posture, bow hold, rhythm games, first tunes.

  • Set lesson groups by level (beginners / returning students).

Provide Instruments & Materials

  • School or Stringify supplies violins, shoulder rests, rosin, stands.

  • Loan/return tracking and basic care (strings, tuning, wipes).

  • Print or digital sheets + simple practice guides.

Run Class (Every Week)

  • Warm-up (10 min): tuning, rhythm claps, bow exercises.

  • Skill blocks (30–40 min): small groups led by mentors, adult oversight.

  • Ensemble (10–15 min): everyone plays together—confidence builder.

  • Wrap (5 min): quick wins, take-home focus, tidy up.

Safety & Support

  • Always a two-adult rule; mentors never supervise alone.

  • Clear behavior norms

  • Parents updated via email/Remind; no 1:1 private messaging.

Track Progress

  • Simple skill checks each month (posture, bow control, first pieces).

  • Mentor feedback notes to instructors; celebrate milestones.

  • Optional practice challenges with stickers/badges.

Perform & Celebrate

  • Mini-showcase each term

  • Family invite + certificates; record short clips (with media consent).

  • Share highlights with community

Invest in Mentors

  • Volunteer hour letters, recommendation notes.

  • Leadership workshops, college app guidance.

  • Access to Mentor Incentive Program (scholarships, grants, gear).

Sustain & Grow

  • Sponsor a School model (PTA, local arts donors, corporate CSR).

  • Annual instrument maintenance & replenishment.

  • Review impact each semester and expand to new campuses.
